 Lymphatic Massage

The lymphatic system plays an essential role in the circulatory system. It transports fluids slowly and rhythmically throughout the body, channeling them back into the circulatory system. Its primary purpose is to purify connective tissue, as lymph is a fluid that derives from this tissue. The system effectively removes bacteria, cellular debris, and excess water while also gathering proteins and waste that are too large to re-enter the bloodstream.

Such a great massage for body and soul. HIGHLY recommend! Every 3 weeks is a perfect interval for me and if I happen to miss one my body lets me know. Therapeutic massage definitely adds to my quality of life!

Massage Therapy

The advantages of lymphatic drainage massage lie in its ability to intentionally and strategically stimulate lymph movement, enhancing circulation, detoxifying the body, and restoring muscle function by alleviating tissue congestion. Lymph flows in a single direction through one-way valves known as angions. By promoting lymph flow through gentle, slow strokes, we can reduce stagnation in the body and restore balance to the autonomic nervous system, which governs our fight or flight response. The main pathway of the lymphatic system is located just beneath the skin, and the goal is to "stretch the skin" rather than compress the lymph nodes.

This type of massage is akin to our Ultimate Relaxation Specialty Massage, incorporating Manual Lymphatic Drainage  (MLD) techniques along with Swedish effleurage. We will focus on directing lymph fluid toward the primary lymph channels found in the abdomen, armpits, neck, and hip areas. Additionally, there will be a segment dedicated to the face and stomach; please let us know in advance if you would prefer these areas to be excluded. Given the detoxifying benefits of this massage, it’s essential to drink plenty of water beforehand to ensure proper hydration, which will facilitate the massage process. It’s also advisable to have a light stomach to promote effective drainage of the stomach and organs.
